T housands of A decco people around the world will share their expertise to help job seekers make a better start in their career . ‘Street Day’ 2015 attracted more than 1.2 million people.

An estimated 200 million people around the world are looking for jobs. Youth unemployment in particular is still hitting peaks of more than 40% in countries like Greece and Spain. A ‘jobless generation’ spells a bleak future for millions of families, hindering peoples’ prospects across the globe.

The third edition of the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, presented in January by Adecco Group, INSEAD and HCLI at the 2016 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, spotlighted the importance of attracting and developing talent to capitalize on the opportunities of a globalised economy and tackle high unemployment and social inequality. Governments, businesses and education systems have to join forces to develop models that can shape a workforce with the employable skills for the needs of today’s markets.

cccccLaunched in 2013, Way to Work is the Adecco Group global initiative to act against youth unemployment. On March 17, thousands of Adecco Group colleagues, including the top management, will hit the streets in more than 670 cities in 53 countries to share their expertise and offer millions of job seekers a helping hand.

Adecco ‘Street Day’ 2016 will provide a wide range of career guidance and job orientation workshops, CV and motivational letter clinics. It will include sessions on social media reputation and job seeking. Youngsters will also learn about the large variety of internships and work-based training opportunities offered by the Adecco Group. Last year alone, the Group provided more than 3,000 internships to youngsters either internally or via partner companies, providing a stepping stone to the world of work.

Alain Dehaze, Adecco Group CEO, said: “Unemployment can only be solved through structural reforms and a public-private alliance for concerted action. I’m proud to represent the thousands of Adecco Group people who on March 17 will again take to the streets, showing passion and commitment to share their expertise with job seekers around the world. Way to Work and ‘Street Day’ are key symbols of Adecco Group’s purpose: helping people enter the world of work, find a job, an income and a future.”

Adecco ‘Street Day’ events will take place in over 300 schools and universities, on the streets and in public spaces, as well as in local Adecco branches. Job seekers can check the programme in their cities on www.adeccowaytowork.com .

Within the Adecco Way to WorkTM programme, the Adecco Group is also offering 50 ambitious youngsters the opportunity to become CEO for One Month in their home countries. One of the 50 will have the chance to become the Adecco Group global CEO for One Month, a once-in-a-lifetime experience to learn how to run a Fortune 500 company and enhance their CV, under the direct supervision of Alain Dehaze.
